MemberHi there. Another newbie question here. Is it possible to connect the NC10 to a TV? I just want to watch picture slideshows and maybe watch some divx videos – I have a 46″ tv so I realise that quality might not be fantastic, but is it possible?
Thanks!

ParticipantWhat is the make and model of the TV?
Or what kind of connections does the TV have?If the TV has a VGA input then it is easy as you can just connect the NC10 via a VGA cable (audio will need an additional cable), if this is the case the quality will be good.

Input port 5: PC 15pin D
Input port 7: RS232Cso no VGA input unless I’m decoding the above incorrectly…

MemberI think the input you are looking for is “Input port 5: PC 15pin D” that is the standard VGA connector as far as I can remember.

ParticipantJust taken a look at the manual for your TV.
Your TV appears to have a connection labelled EXT 7 which is a VGA connection, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
To get both video and audio working you will need to buy two cables:-
For video a VGA to VGA cable, for example.
For audio a 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo audio cable, for example. It looks like the VGA input on the TV will accept a maximum resolution of 1280×1024, though it looks like it might work better at 1360×768.
EDIT: The best thing to do is to look at the connections on the TV, and compare it to the one on the NC10. They should both have the same connection. It looks like the connections are hidden underneath a flap.

MemberOK thanks for the help so far. Just had a look at the manual myself and the TV does indeed have a VGA inout, but rather stupidly, its at the back of the TV. Not on the side or underneath, but actually at the back, and because the TV is wall mounted, accessing it is nigh impossible.
The only inputs easily accessible are 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the below diagram…. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

MemberEXT 7 is your VGA port. The VGA port on the NC10 also has 15 pins. Connect your audio in the port under your VGA port.

ParticipantIf you are going by the numbers on the diagram then 4 and 5 are useless.
2 may be possible but it may not work, you can get cables which go from VGA to s-video however it is dependant on the NC10 outputting an S-Video signal on unused pins. You probably could buy a converter box, though expect low quality images if you use these connections.
3 is possible but only with an expensive analogue to digital converter, you would need one which accepts the audio input as well. Something like this may work, you will need the correct cables as well.
