I just saw this article and I am just amazed at how factually incorrect it is.

There is a video of the tv report as well. Some highlights include:
“The netbooks are for viewing — not for doing.”
“They cannot play games and have no hard drive”
“They cannot do complex photo or document editing”
I cannot believe this article is from an actual news station, it seems like an April fools joke or something.
It seems some people have it in for netbooks 🙁
I would actually have agreed to a small extent on a couple of the points earlier in the year but with more functional machines like the NC10 now available they are very much mistaken.
I have been typing up php code on the train to work, previewing it on a local Apache installation. I’ve played games, older ones work particularly well.
They can do photo editing but I wouldn’t recommend it! No reason why you couldnt tap out a Word doc though.
Netbooks aren’t for everyone – but for some of us they fit a perfect niche.
Presumtion is the mother of all F…… ups! And it seems to me that’s what most people do with these things; presume a lot and so get it all wrong. Actually that’s my view of news in general, I want to watch news rather than speculation lol
