Marvell Miniport Driver:
http://www.marvell.com/drivers/driverDisplay.do?driverId=101Chipset:
Go to intel’s official site and get the Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset Family driver for vistaWireless Atheros Driver:
http://www.driversdown.com/ViewDownloadUrl.asp?ID=100676&brNum=3&show=0Bluetooth (replace vista’s rubbish one), Camera Driver, Sound Driver, Touchpad found on the driver tab of the below link. (BE SURE TO GET THE VISTA VERSIONS AS BOTH XP AND VISTA ARE LISTED).
Easy Display Manager (vista version at the bottom of the list), Easy Battery Manager, Easy Speedup Manager, Play Camera found on the software tab of the below link. (BE SURE TO GET THE VISTA VERSIONS AS BOTH XP AND VISTA ARE LISTED).
Everything you need for vista to run properly (bios is the regular nc10 bios found on samsung’s official site) I am typing this on a vista running NC10 and have been running it no problem for 2 weeks now. I do suggest you get 2gb of ram to run vista. The ram install literally took me 20 seconds and i had never done anything of the sort before hand. If you have any problems with the above drivers/software or would like someone to walk you through the ram install just post here and I will get back to you. Feel free to contact me. I hope this helps those thinking about installing vista to make up there minds and go for it. Good luck.
P.S. I though I’d give the link to the ram i used:

I was getting just over 5hrs of battery life with 100% brightness & volume, no WiFi the other day. Do you mind if I format your post and stuff?
December 31, 2008 at 4:09 pm #178105PanManMemberEDM under Vista simply adds one button to the Mobility center (windows + X ) to turn autodim on/off. By default doesn’t autostart as a tray icon
As for wifi I I cant remember if used the standard XP drivers from Samsung or just let Vista do its thing (just woken up & still sleepy) but whichever way wifi works just fine.
Sound works as well as expected straight out of the box (ie using Vistas built in drivers)
December 31, 2008 at 5:50 pm #178103AlfiharParticipantDon’t think it was mentioned.
You need to download the graphics drivers from Intel as well, if you want decent performance.

That’s interesting that your wifi worked because mine definitely wasn’t and it was driving me mad. When I installed vista i allocated all 160gb to one drive so i wiped the recovery and the hidden partition and I did a clean install not an upgrade.. Did you follow the same method?
December 31, 2008 at 9:13 pm #178106PanManMemberHi Sora
I repartioned first from XP using Easeus into 2 x 25Gb & 1x 90Gb (left the 6gb hidden partition alone) but didn’t format or do anything with the empty space.
I then copied the Vista install files to the 90Gb ‘data’ partiton and ran the install from inside XP. I chose a clean install on the unpartioned space so that Both Vista & XP now see their Install partions as the ‘C’ drive
Just booted into XP & checked the file versions , yes I did use the standard Samsung drivers for WiFi
(all figures rounded)
December 31, 2008 at 10:40 pm #178113Sora000MemberAh I see. I didn’t bother trying the original samsung xp wifi driver under vista. I just went straight for the atheros driver. I haven’t had any problems with mine, and I assume you have had a similarly good experience. So i suppose you can get away with either driver.
Oh just to address some of the above comments, with EDM installed but not EBM the autodim function is not present. With the EBM installed the autodim functions properly. I don’t notice any difference in battery life with or with out EBM installed.
January 1, 2009 at 9:45 pm #178116philwa2Memberwhen im trying to install vista no hard drive is recognised (it is present in the BIOS) – do I need SATA drivers for the hard disk and if so where can I get them from? Thanks
January 1, 2009 at 11:05 pm #178107PanManMemberGood question, are you doing it from a Bootable USB stick/external drive then?
Didn’t need anyhting special installing from the HDD
January 1, 2009 at 11:32 pm #178117philwa2Memberyes im installing from a USB stick

Just reinstalled my sammy to Vista Home Premium from an external dvd drive with zero problems.

Hi, i followed the link to this site, but when i click on drivers there is only xp drivers listed.
Also my model is np-nc10 ,,,,,which is uk version, and the drivers download on the uk Samsung site also has only xp drivers listed.
Can anybody direct me to the Vista drivers please?January 15, 2009 at 8:42 pm #178114Sora000MemberYou should be linked to a laptop made by samsung called the X360-34P. That system ships with vista from samsung and you can use the drivers and software found on its page on your nc10. I just clicked the link and it took me to the right page. Are you not being linked to the X360-34P page at all, or are you and it just doesn’t show the Vista drivers/software?
January 15, 2009 at 11:34 pm #178119riverboatMemberHow Bizzare…….It worked straight away this time.
But wouldn’t you know it, all set to do this tonight and had a power cut, only lasted a second or two, but have spent the last FIVE HOURS getting everything up and running again.
Oh well, will have a go tomorrow.
CheersJanuary 16, 2009 at 1:21 am #178115Sora000MemberOh that’s unfortunate. Good luck getting everything working. If you have any more problems just let me know.
