Anyone tried any of the Civilization or Sim City games? I did a little googling and found some info about hacks for getting some games to run at 1024×600. One MSI Wind forum member recommended FreeCiv (which I had not heard of but sounds interesting) Info at FreeCiv.org.
I am looking for one of those games that you look up and realize you just wasted hours playing and didn’t even realize it. I’m thinking about long flights…
yeah great call – I grew up with civ II and loved it. Many many hours of my school holidays wasted lol!
I have every version actually, Ill give it a test!
In terms of a Civ type game Civ II Civ III and Alpha Centaurii should play well barring any unsupported resolution issues, I wouldn’t reccomend trying Civ 4 as I have trouble running that on my XPS Dell :/ Sim City 3000 should play fine and is I think the truest to the series along with 2000 but that might be a bit too old school for some. I will try Alpha and Sim City 3000 sometime this week or possibly on the weekend.
