Got my NC10 for xmas from my wife…..just installed vista ultimate…..purchased for £60 from software4students.co.uk
The catch?… of course there is one…you have to be either a student or have someone in education in the house….my son is 5 and daughter 3, purchased on the basis that they will use my NC10…well they use it with me to access cbeebies online…!!!!
Once purchased, they send you a disk and licence key…not a download……just copy the disk to usb stick and run setup in xp….all the drivers can be downloaded via links on this forum…..
Just have a small problem with wireless, I think this is relatd to kaspersky, but i’m just working through all the installs to narrow down the problem…..the problem… the password on the wpa security keeps getting rejected…any ideas anyone (sorry if off topic)
Regards
Darren

£40.95 for the download version, and an additional £9 for the DVD version in addition to the download. You need an email address ending in .ac.uk or other educational address though, to prove you are a student.

I just checked, for the ultimate steal one it needs to be either:-
ac.uk
ac.im
ac.gg
ac.je

January 13, 2009 at 9:10 am #179395SideburntMemberno point, install windows 7. I’ve tried Vista and find Win7 to be far superior, its also free at the moment and the drivers are on the whole the same.
January 13, 2009 at 9:33 am #179390jezMemberI don’t think I will ever use Vista now. With Win 7 so close even at a reduced price Vista doesn’t see worth it now.
January 14, 2009 at 1:21 am #179394lucynethelMemberAnyone know what happens when our BETA FREE license key expires in August? I tried a little trick and advanced my “clock-date” and rebooted to see if it would just allow me to roll back to Vista. NOPE! Just locked me up & stated my copy of Windows was illegal……What a nightmare I had getting back up. So I am curious what happens come August?

January 14, 2009 at 7:33 am #179396SzabsMemberWell, you will have to buy Win7 or get a new key or something. I don’t see the point in installing win7.
January 14, 2009 at 11:09 am #179398emeowwwMemberI think that’s the whole point of a beta trial 😉
January 14, 2009 at 11:58 am #179391jezMemberExactly, peeps should only be trialling Win 7. Don’t go too far down the road of setting it up as you may well lose it all! They do warn you!
