MemberI don’t know if anyone else has had this problem (or even has tried to do this), but after updating the bios to the latest firmware update via Samsung, I can no longer start my computer in Safe Mode….it just hangs! I can’t even do a System Restore. No matter what I do, the system will not start up during Safe Mode. I don’t know what to do short of returning the computer! I don’t know if there is anyway to undo the firmware update. Can someone help?? I’ve had the computer less than a week and I am soooo stressed out over this, as I’ve been trying to work on it all day uninstalling programs, re-installing drivers, etc…nothing works. I really like this little Sammie, and sure wish there was some way I could still salvage the situation. 🙁
Thanks for any help.

MemberHave you tried re-applying the firmware upgrade?
Was your Sammy on battery or adapter power during the upgrade? It needs to be on adapter power so the upgrade doesn’t have a chance to get corrupted if power is lost (even for a millisecond).December 18, 2008 at 5:16 am #175942Sweet-P

[/quote1229577139]No, I figured out what the problem was…arghhh! I had to do a complete restore of the system to the initial Windows because of some faulty driver….after four days of customizing the computer and installing programs. Now I have to do it all over again. Apparently, something happened and caused one of the drivers to get corrupted that only manifests during Safe Mode and not in normal Windows. Boy that sure takes the pleasure out of using the Samsung…but I’m working my way back. 🙂
