MemberHi everyone, I bought myself a NC10 in White, absolutely love it, it runs like a dream however I noted that Win 7 is due out in months to come and wondered whether anyone has tried to install it on their netbook? I was specifically interested in people who have tried it on there netbook Win 7 pelease, any advice as to where to go for a download of Beta would be nice, I wouldnt like to think that the recovery samsung built in software would be interfered. Many Thanks, Sara

MemberWindows 7 should be downloaded directly from the microsoft website. Don’t get it from anywhere else.

As with everything new, a few drivers need optimising yet and streamed video can be choppy, but everything else works great.July 12, 2009 at 9:35 am #195960Prophecy
MemberAs Gajet Mentioned it has to be downloaded solely from microsoft to be on the safer side and the beta is long gone history the RC is out and valid til June 2010 so enjoy !!!!!!!
N dont forget get the 32 bit Version

Memberyeah i have it running on mine no problem..really love it. It is so much nicer to look at than xp.
also, it seems to run just as smooth as xp, I am not a huge computer guru like some on here who may have noticed a slight drag, but I have not.
be sure to get the RC and try it out!July 13, 2009 at 11:20 am #195950TCMuffin

MemberThank you, Gajet 🙂
I thought it might be helpful to provide the download links.
For XP – download graphics driver version 14.32.4 for the integrated graphics controller of Intel® chipsets. and for Vista – download graphics driver version 15.8.3 (7.14.10.1504) for the integrated graphics controller of Intel® chipsets

Installs graphics driver version 15.12.75.1825 (8.15.10.1825) for the integrated graphics controller of Intel® chipsets for Windows 7 RC

MemberThank you again Gajet 🙂
Actually, having just tried to install the Vista driver, I’ve found that my link doesn’t work on Windows 7 🙁
So, I hope you don’t mind if I change it to your link for Windows 7 – download graphics driver version 15.12.75.1825 (8.15.10.1825) for the integrated graphics controller of Intel® chipsets for Windows 7 RC

MemberHello TCMuffin,
what have You to say about the Jolicloud OS? Pro and cons?August 9, 2009 at 7:03 pm #195953TCMuffin
MemberHi p079mbw 🙂
Pros: Fast and internet focussed – so ideal for my use of my NC10. Installed quickly with no problems.
Cons: a bit far removed from Ubuntu, so installing software other than that included with the distro was less than intuitive.
Hope that helps 🙂

MemberInstalled the RTM Ultimate on my NC10, everything works great. Haven’t had a chance to exercise the battery and see how it compares against Vista though…

MemberHave Win 7 RTM Home Premium running on my N110 with 2GB and all great except lower battery life reported compared to XP. (do the config hack to make the RTM ultimate ISO install as Home Premium)
I uninstalled the Battery Manager as the auto-dimming was eratic for me.
Personally, I still like XP SP3 but seeing as I’ve got Win7 Home Premium ordered for only £44.99
I had problems with the RC not running 720p HD files smoothly (unlike XP) but with a clean install of Win 7 Home Premium playback is fine (using MPC-HC with CoreAVC).
