can both hd partitions be used ?

when i first set up my machine i elected to do the default 50/50 split. i now regret this but do not want the hassle of formatting and starting over.
i have a lot of movie files and am running low on space so could i simply move these files to the unused 80gb second drive ?

I would create some folders in D drive and save all my (movies) files there. If you want to keep the movie files, burn them to DVDs.

Always save your files to D drive in case you need to re-format and not lose your data. 🙂

Many people use the C: drive for the OS and applications and the D: drive for documents, pictures, videos, etc. As Ysabel says, if you need to reformat your C: drive because of viruses or OS corruption, your data is safe on the other partition.
