MemberI want to remove the Bluetooth through Add/Remove Programs. But just in the remote chance some time in the future I decide I need it for some device, can this software be re-installed from the System Media Disk that came with the Samsung? I looked through the disk and I do see where I can install the bluetooth driver, but don’t know if that would include all the components, software, etc. as originally installed. Does anyone know about this?
Thanks 🙂

MemberI’m pretty sure there’s nothing special about the bluetooth stack on the NC10 it’s just the Microsoft one so yeah you will be able to.
However I don’t see why you would want to, when disabled it uses no resources. Disable it from Device Manager and then to get rid of the tray icon: Start -> Run -> msconfig. On the startup tab uncheck “Bluetooth”

[/quote1230237681]I probably will keep it on the computer but disabled. However, HOW do I get rid of the Bluetooth icon on my desktop??? I’ve tried everything and cannot delete it. It is not a regular icon that can be deleted the usual way. I hate unnecessary stuff on my desktop. Just don’t know how to get rid of it…anyone know?
Thanks!

MemberDownload TweakUI which is a Microsoft XP Power Toy.
Link is here.
Install it, go to Desktop, Desktop Icons and untick Bluetooth Places.
This is the easiest, most straightforward method for removing it. There are also lots of other useful changes you can make using TweakUI but I’ll leave that up to you to explore.

MemberAnother quick way to do this, without installing any software:
Right-click on the desktop. In the “Arrange Icons By” submenu, there should be the option “Run Desktop Cleanup Wizard” – click it.
The wizard will show you all icons on your desktop. Make sure the My Bluetooth Places icon is ticked and click Next, then Finish.
Your bluetooth icon will now be in a folder on your desktop called “Unused Desktop Shortcuts”. Delete the folder and the bluetooth icon will go with it.
