MemberI’m about to buy (no pun intended) and found a great deal at buy.com. Open a Visa acount and get a $30 credit you can use right away. It only approves you for $2K and you can kill it off as quick as you want.
Only I just heard that Costco provides an extended warranty when you buy there for only $479. I’d get stuck with 7.5% state sales tax.
Decisions, decisions.

MemberForgot to mention that there’s no annual fee for the Chase Visa charge card.

MemberActually, costco has it for $459.99: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11333685 Don’t forget, costco has free shipping, a 90 day return policy and a 2 year warranty (versus 1).
Gee, I should get a free NC10 for advertising for costco!

MemberBuy.com screwed him over just now. TRUEfoe ordered this like a week ago with overnight shipping. It turns out they don’t even have them in stock, even though they pulled the money out of his account!

MemberBuy.com have bad return policy, 15 days with restocking fee or something. It’s really better to buy from a place like costco so you return it if you dont like something instead of reselling on ebay and loosing money.

MemberWhere’s the best place to get it in the US now with a pretty decent warranty? TRUEfoe doesn’t have a Costco membership unfortunately. Preferably black. =P It’s sad, because he’s already received his 2gb ram. lol.

MemberFirst choice is Costco, you don’t need ‘membership’ but they have only the blue one currently.
Second choice is http://www.jr.com. They have 30 days return policy, no restocking fees.

MemberMy Sammy arrived over the weekend, Fedex didn’t want to give it up. Product was new in box, works great, as expected. Yes Buy doesn’t have a great return policy but I haven’t returned anything I’ve bought on-line in years. A return policy covers you when you change your mind. If it arrives damaged/not working, they take care of you. If they ship something other than what you ordered (I had this happen with Buy with a motherboard years ago), they cover you. I researched this purchase to death and never expected any reason to retun it except for damage or dead out of the box. The $30 discount was applied right away and was pain free. No waiting 6-8 weeks for a rebate that might/might not show up like at JR’s. Price was $414.95 charged to my shiny new credit card which I’ll now cut up and close. Actually, I may just keep it for on-line purchases since it has such a low credit limit ($2K). The card is a Chase Visa with no annual fee. This was the least expensive price I could find, if they had had pink, my fiance would have been happy with that but white works just fine and people already asked if it was an Apple product.
