I’m trying to set up a Logitech BT mouse. It won’t do it because the BT appears to be switched off.
The Bluetooth config lists the Broadcom 2045 USB 2.0 device with active status, type USB.Device properties give Device Status: The selected device is stopped.
Right click the BT icon and select start from the pop-up menu. One problem – there is no icon there!
Any ideas, please?
January 26, 2009 at 5:56 pm #181388MattJessopMemberHave you checked in the BIOS to ensure BT is not disabled in there ?
January 26, 2009 at 7:03 pm #181393berflesMemberWhen I got rid of the BT icon on my taskbar it said something about re-enabling it in Start->Samsung something or other. I’ll check quick and see if I can find it.
Hmm, can’t find it in the Samsung sub menu.
Maybe check services.msc and try starting from there?

January 27, 2009 at 10:03 am #181391lemmyMemberI said (see my original post), everything is enabled and working and active except that BT is turned off and BT config tells me to turn it on from the tray icon. It’s not there, that’s the problem.

If this doesn’t work, Alt+Ctrl+Del to go to Task Manager, end explorer.exe process and run it again (in Task Manager File -> New Task, type explorer.exe).

[/quote1233076248]Have a look in your startup menu to be sure the Bluetooth driver is installed on startup. If it’s not there, it won’t start automatically, and won’t be in your system tray. Once in your tray, you can turn it on or off just by clicking the tray icon.
January 27, 2009 at 6:28 pm #181387lozza69erMemberI had the same problem, installed the bluetooth setup from the Samsung website, after a restart everything was fine.
January 27, 2009 at 6:30 pm #181392lemmyMemberNothing to do with the tray and all drivers are launched on start up. Bluetooth config reports everything working normally but to switch it on from the icon in the systray….which as I said, wasn’t there.
I tried several registry hacks but nothing worked. Then I trawled through the Samsung Software Media CD that comes with the machine. In folder BASW-01178A is a file SWDesc.txt which reports that the folder conatins the bluetooth drivers.
I un-installed all the BT drivers and then installed those and the bluetooth mouse I bought pairs up and works immediately.
I would have installed the Broadcom BT drivers but they appear to be presently unavailable at their web site.
