For those of us who would like to play some music through the NC10 without dealing with the rubbish quality or headphones all the time I saw these on play.com for £69.99.
Might be a pretty cool solution to the problematic audio.Sony-SRS-BTM30-Bluetooth-Wireless-Speakers at Play.com

December 5, 2008 at 5:18 pm #173921jezMemberGood spot that. I, like others, have found the included speakers very underpowered. Have you ordered them, or know whether they are any good. I guess tbh I wouldn’t have high expectations from such speakers (relative to hifi equipment) but I bet they “do the job”
December 5, 2008 at 8:48 pm #173942Do-moreMemberThese Samsung bluetooth speakers look like the job! Nice and flat to go in a laptop bag.
I had these speakers, fake nokia copies, avoid like the plague, first one worked for about 3 weeks, the replacements wouldn’t even power on, at least I got a full refund without having to post either back.
I now have this Sony Ericsson speaker, sound is good but there is no volume control on the speaker which is a bit of a pain as I normally use it to listen to internet radio when I’m in the kitchen 20-30ft away from my PC.
December 5, 2008 at 11:18 pm #173943Do-moreMemberThis flat panel bluetooth speaker looks like another highly portable option that will easily fit into any laptop case. Only draw back I can see is that it doesn’t have built-in rechargable batteries so you have to keep swapping batteries.
December 6, 2008 at 4:21 pm #173936StyxMemberI haven’t ordered them yet, I’m going to look around and see what others are available – might get a good deal after Christmas.
I’m not really looking for the most portable option as headphones would be fine for out and about and also wouldn’t annoy others if I was in a coffee shop or something. I would be using the speakers in my room to listen to music/videos without wires getting in the way so bigger would be better from a sound perspective.I’d love to get something that would connect to my NC10, tv, and xbox – would be awesome to have a (affordable) wireless sound system for that.

[/quote1228582123]I have a Motorola DC800 which is very similar to the Sony above except the Motorola is a Class 1 bluetooth device and is specced as having a 100 metre range rather than the 10 metre range of the Sony. I presently use it as a transmitter from my desktop, rather than as a receiver and find that I can get coverage in most of the house even though my bluetooth speakers are only rated as Class 2 (10 metre range)
December 6, 2008 at 5:24 pm #173923RsaeireMemberI’m now also interested in finding a pair of high quality Bluetooth speakers. It would be ideal to have another option than the NC10’s speakers.
December 6, 2008 at 7:03 pm #173924RsaeireMemberI found these portable Bluetooth speakers, but they’re about 150 Euro. They seem to be the best portable speakers available and I am very tempted to buy them.
The link above is a mini-review of the speakers and they seem to only be available if you live in Australia, New Zealand or the USA.

Cheapest here for the 20W version!

December 7, 2008 at 9:26 pm #173932hefMemberthose are trhe exact ones i saw before. they’re a LOT cheaper now too.
they look to be pretty damn good, except for ported cabs. i would probably rehouse the cones in a bigger, sealed enclosure, although i really have no need for MOAR monitors lying around.December 10, 2008 at 11:23 am #173933SamuelMemberThose foxL speakers look very good but the drawback seems to be the 4-5 hour battery life, even if they are rechargable.
At the moment I’m using my trusty Creative Travelsound speakers for all my portable music. No bluetooth just 3.5mm line in but they sound great and are pretty loud. My set uses 4x AA batteries and I get upwards of 20 hours on a set of rechargable AAs, no doubt longer with something like Lithium AAs.
December 10, 2008 at 3:53 pm #173939SideburntMemberwhy the emphasis on bluetooth?
I got a 5W £15 Usb powered speaker and its got cracking sound quality.
sure there’s a drain on laptop battery but at least I’ve saved a fortune, am more likely to take cheaper speakers in my rucksack/case than a 50-150 quid set.
If you buy from the mymemory.co.uk, rather than amazon, there’s a 3 for 2 offer on. I got a couple of extra for this xmas.
