Hi All,
Found this site useful in helping me decide upon NC10 (Black) which I am now very happily running Windows 7 Beta on.
In the run up to me finally taking the plunge with the NC10 I was looking at other moblie alternatives, such as phones to see how they might work for me, possibly instead of a netbook. Couldn’t be happier I chose the NC10 however, my mobile contract is up now too so I wondered what mobiles you guys have got and any ideas on which you think compliment the NC10 well – if such a relationship exists?
I have a SE K810i now which has been the best phone ever for text, talk and pics (3.2 MP with Xenon flash). Obvious step up is SE c905 but wondered what you thought? I will be moving to O2 as I get a discount on contract with them.

P.S Welcome to the site.

I thought about that…connecting mobile to NC10 in that way is called ‘tethering’ right?
Not sure O2 allow for it in their T’s & C’s? If there is a loop-hole then happy days and that could decide it for me!
January 20, 2009 at 3:55 pm #18064171notoutMemberI am an O2 customer (with a C902 after a K800, K750, K700, etc) and you can not use it as a medium to surf broadband unless you buy a data package from O2.
I have unlimited web browsing on my tariff but cannot use it with the NC10 unfortunately (already confirmed with O2…twice!).
Still a cracking phone tho, and with bluetooth it can connect to NC10 no probs.
January 21, 2009 at 1:15 pm #180644maltyMemberShame about the tethering…or lack of; I guess that will be pretty reflective across mobile providers (else why buy the dongles?).
Seems c905 makes sense as best upgrade for me anyway. I forget how much I use/rely on having the camera there at anytime.
January 21, 2009 at 2:10 pm #180639RsaeireMemberI had a K850i previously and a K800i before that, but I went for the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 as my next handset. I love the handset, it looks great and it offers amazing functionality. The biggest differences between the X1 and the previous handsets I mentioned is that it is a Windows Mobile handset, it has a large 3†screen and also has a slide-out qwerty keyboard. As such, the X1 would be classed as a smartphone; a stark contrast to the basic functionality of the K series handsets.
Regarding the C905, I would say this would be your next logical step, given your current handset, and I would therefore recommend going to your local O2 or Carphone Warehouse store to check it out in person.

If you can get internet access directly on the handset you should be able to link it via the PC.

Usual disclaimer : O2s T&Cs may have some sort of wording in along the lines of ‘unlimited web browsing using the web browser built into your phone’ (which is how the crackberry packages are /were defined) however in my experience they have no way of knowing what you’re using (unless of course you start going silly with the amount of data transferred). Having siad that YMMV and I am in no way responsible for excess data charges, your account being suspended or your hair falling out etc
