MemberHave tried the battery doubler (search for it on google). My battery lasted after 1 recalibrate of the battery and fully recharge 6hrs and 49min. I had the WLAN turned on whole time, also installing Office 2007, C#2008, some games etc. (always doin’ something on it)
I think it’s a good application and it was tested in a german computer magazine and they said it works. Well I don’t know how long exactly the battery runs without it (I had about 5hrs and 30mins before doin’ that), make your own choice of installing it, or not!

MemberThanks!! I will install it directly!
What kind of battery life are you getting and what kind of settings are you using then (mostly interested in the brightness setting of the screen)?November 30, 2008 at 10:57 pm #172780techguyone

MemberThe Battery Doubler program doesn’t work. Says I’ve got 2 hours battery life 😉 and that is not correct I can guarantee that (even shows wrong after calibration). Too old program I think. I run XP as came with the NC10 so it can’t be an Operating Systems issue.

Memberrefer to my post in the battery wear thread.
battery performance isn’t really somehing that can be tweaked or customized unless you are replacing cells or adding extra cells.
it;s entriely down to what you switch on or off in your machine how long your battery lasts.
less features used = more battery.
have a play with device manager in the system section of control panel. see what you can right click > disable to save power.
try hitting up administritave tools > services too and turn off as many of those as you dont need. should save you some cpu cycles and battery wastage.December 1, 2008 at 5:21 am #172782NNippon
Memberthe programm has settings to only use 99% of the core speed in full mode, because at 100% it needs the most battery and so on. Some features aren’t available in the normal manager. That’s why i posted it here.

MemberPlease tell me how to get this program to work, I uninstalled it because it said I had just over 2 hours of battery life even after recalibrating. What does your Battery Doubler say you have? The normal battery manager gives me a correct value but Battery Doublers value of total battery life is just very, very wrong.

MemberI don’t know what you did, but I don’t see a value shown by Battery Doubler? Are you sure you have the right program? I only have the time shown how long my NC10 is running. Not how long it lasts!?
But also the Windows battery icon doesn’t show the correct values. Sometimes it shows me 9 hours, and sometimes it shows mit 2 hours, but I am doin’ the same work with it.
I also installed Battery Bar ver2.2 but also this doesn’t show the correct values.December 1, 2008 at 5:10 pm #172776Freddy
MemberIf you right-click the trayicon for Battery Doubler you will see “Battery Status”-option in one of the options, this shows you what Battery Doubler reports. Sometimes the regular Windows battery status in tray also shows over 9 hours on my machine too, but this is not a true value. Running Wifi and doing continuos browsing with a 3-bar setting on brightness my NC10 now reaches a maximum of 6 hours 30 minutes and this is after a lot, LOT of tweaking. Any ideas how to get even more?
The most correct program I have been using is actually Battery Bar like you mention, use it some more and you will pretty much get a value that actually is consistent with reality.

MemberI am not very pleased with the Battery bar, sometimes it shows me that my NC10 has a 55.000mWh battery and this time it only showed mit 24.000mWh…. that’s also not that good as I like it to have

MemberAfter further tweaking I now get 7 hours and 31 min. (still with the standard settings of 3 bar brightness, that is Normal Battery Mode). This is some extreme endurance I must say.
Ok, Samsung promised 8 hours but that is with Brightness set to lowest and no Wifi etc. I get 7:31 with Wifi.
This is however a predicted value so put in consideration what I got in reallife measurement before it is now getting closer to 7 hours flat from the previous reallife 6 hours and 32min (3-bar, Wifi-on, browsing continuously).[quote1228163480=NNippon]
