I have been looking at the Belkin NE-MS 12 too. It seems like a great case if you want some more room for other stuff. I think it’s big enough![/quote1234711469]
The main issue it’s that it impossible to find here in Italy so I can’t test how big it would be.
Meanwhile I’m considering something completely different.
It’s a messenger bag not too big, made of recycled materials here in Italy (like the freitag)
Dimensions should be perfect:
33x25x14 cm (13’x9.8’x5.5′)

Thanks for the useful info.
The moleskin + Sammy is 6.5… It should be possible to fit it, IMHO.February 15, 2009 at 4:19 pm #169513fppMemberHere’s a fun tip I got from another forum :
If you’re after something on the cheap, look for a shop or site that sells table tennis gear. Some of those “sleeves” made to carry your rackets and balls in are a surprisingly good fit for 10″ netbooks, have side pockets for accessories, and are much less overpriced than computer aftermarket stuff…
February 15, 2009 at 4:54 pm #169545mainuschMemberI have had my Sammy for about a month now (its great!). I have been reading this forum quite a bit and i thought i would post what i have found for taking iSammy with me. i tried a few different bags and cases and settled on this one that i found here
I have a Case Logic sleeve that i put the sammy in and that goes in the main compartment in the middle. there is another pocket on the front that i store the ac adapter and wireless mouse. the back of the bag has an organiser section that holds my cell phone and other things.
All in all it works very well for taking Sammy and other things with me.
One thing I have added recently is a project i created. i bought a thin cutting board at bed, bath and beyond that was about the size of the Sammy and i put that in the main compartment of the bag to give a little more protection fro the Sammy. i Glued a mousepad to the surface of the board. as well as providing protection for the sammy it gives me a portable mousing surface as well.
The bag itself is a little pricey at $65 but it is very well made and works perfeclty (for me anyway).
February 15, 2009 at 5:36 pm #169486TCMuffinMemberI’ve bought a Tech Air 2111.
Really sturdy and holds a fair bid of stuff for a small bag.

[/quote1234731376]February 16, 2009 at 2:57 pm #169353FreddyMemberJust bought a bag today in town, it’s a Timberland New Market Groton Large Camera Bag and I think it’s just excellent! It has enough room for the Sammy, a notepad or two, pencils etc etc
Very lightweight and just the right size I think!
It is waterproof, but not padded so I’m now looking for a simple, padded sleeve to put my Sammy in. Any suggestions?
I’m thinking of this one I saw on Amazon. Simple and also “top-loaded” which is good because my bag is “vertical” and I will put my Sammy in vertically.

February 17, 2009 at 6:46 am #169566rasticoMemberI can’t say I went through all 20-some pages but I did scan thru most… so sorry if I missed it. Anyone tried the Mini Messenger cases by Belkin meant for the Dell Mini??
The 12.2″ case: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=475201
The 8.9″ case: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=475161
I imagine the 12.1″ case would better suit/fit our NC10s with a little room for accessories. The only place I saw much discussion regarding this case was on the DellMini forums. Any feedback would be swell.
Also, seems like the price for the 12.1″ on dell.com is actually $39.99 (USD).
February 17, 2009 at 11:05 am #169354FreddyMemberI do not think anyone mentioned the Belkin Mini Messenger before. I have taken a look at it though and it is supposedly only sold through Dell. On the Dell homepage you can also find some more pictures.
It seems like a nice case, it looks good imho. My guess is that the version meant for the 8.9″ actually would fit the NC10 but I cannot swear on that. Another guess is also that the only difference between the 8.9″ and the 12″ version is the sleeve inside the bag. Having looked at the sleeve inside the regular Belkin NE-MS 12 messenger bag it just looks to big.
If I would have bought this bag I would take my chances with the 8.9″ one.

February 18, 2009 at 7:31 am #169565FlowahMemberDoes anyone know where to purchase the Belkin NE-MS 12 for the United States? The BigPockets site doesn’t seem to ship there. I’d like a black one.
Also, for anyone in the US, where’s a good retail place to look around in-store for these kinds of messenger bags?
February 18, 2009 at 8:35 pm #169561BylaMemberI just received the 8.9″ Zeroshock III (in orange) and it fits like a glove, literally. It is a bit thinner than I had expected, more like sleve, but my fiance will use it to pad “our” NC10 in her work bag. I would have liked it to be slightly larger in length and width so that the foam would wrap the edges of the NC10 a little more and provide better protection of an edge fall or bang happened. The next size up was an inch larger in both directions and I thought that was a bit much. It doe not have room to stick the power brick in it’s pocket without deforming the case. A small laptop mouse might not do as much damage. It appears to be high quality (almost feels like leather exterior) but seems a little expensive for what it is. I paid $36 USD with shipping. It came in nothing more than the retail packaging which was a plastic cover and stuck in a Tyvek mailing envelope making me feel like the $8.95 for shipping was excessive. If I had it to do over again, I’d probably buy the same case as both my fiance and I love orange. 😉
Thanks go out to everyone in this thread that posted about this case!
February 18, 2009 at 11:05 pm #1695094-WayMemberI chose the next size up and it has got that room around the edge to protect the NC10 if it was dropped. After a while the case moulds to the NC10 and holds it solid.
It’s probably about personal preference in the end. Some want the smallest case they can fit around their netbook whilst others want a bit more protection. Each to their own 🙂February 19, 2009 at 7:56 pm #169559nons_MemberI received my “10.6 – 11.1 inch” size zeroshock III sleeve today, it has some room around the nc10 but holds it tight. the cushion makes a very solid impression in terms of shock protection.
surely protects it well enough to just throw it in a backpack 🙂
