Got this error message on m NC10 last week and appreciate any advice on what it means. At one point the operating system or a samsung utility- I can’t remember which- said I needed to replace the hard drive! I ran chkdsk utility on the advice of a friend but not sure if its fixed the problem. Netbook seems to be running fine – but bit worried there might be some fundamental problem with my hard drive- advice greatly appreciated , Jay ps. loving the netbook otherwise!
Please download HDTune, install and go to the Error Scan tab and scan the drive. Get any errors?
What harddrive do you have in your NC10? (make + model?)
Thanks Freddy- well finally got around to loading HDTune which is a great utility- thank you. Found I had one dud sector. Phone Samsung who were very efficient and helpful (nice surprise!) and the chap suggested I exchange my netbook as bad sectors can ‘spread’ over time. So now got a new one from Currys- they didn’t challenge and were helpful too which was nice (but noticed the price has gone up in store- I paid 299 and now its 322!). So going to reinstall everything and hopefully, fingers crossed, this new machine won’t have same problem.
You didn’t have to pay the extra did you?
Great! np 🙂
You probably just got a bad sample, hope the new one is as it should!
