I thought I remembered seeing a thread on this before I bought my Samsung but I did a search but couldn’t find one.
When i first boot up my NC10 it boots with the backlight on maximum. After a few minutes it turns the backlight all the way to the dimmest setting, I then have to adjust the backlight manually. It does this no matter what profile is selected. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
December 13, 2008 at 3:09 pm #175587mauwongMemberI can only retain my backlight as set by changing the customized profile.
December 13, 2008 at 3:15 pm #175582FreddyMemberIsn’t it the auto-dimming? Does it come back to normal when you press on the keyboard or touch the touchpad?
December 13, 2008 at 3:26 pm #175586PsychNC10Memberno I have the same situation I think
December 13, 2008 at 5:22 pm #175581RsaeireMemberThere is a bios setting that enables the backlight to stay on the same level that you left it before you restarted/shutdown your netbook. This may help resolve the issue.
December 13, 2008 at 7:32 pm #175583FreddyMemberI have a similar problem, the auto-dimming feature in Samsung Battery Manager…you should be able to exclude program (se under Options – LCD Auto-dimming – Register excluded programs) but it doesn’t work anymore which is quite annoying when watching movies. Now I have to manually disable the dimming feature when watching movies.
Perhaps these are bugs in the latest release of the Samsung Battery Manager software (ver 2.2.1.4). What version are you using DeoreDX and PsychNC10?
December 13, 2008 at 7:43 pm #175584FreddyMemberUpdate: I now found s solution to my program. The MediaList.ini file in the Samsung Battery Manager folder was for some reason readonly. Changing this and the register excluded program it works again.
I would suggest to also check what happens if you disable Samsung Battery Manager (remove it from startup in msconfig) and just check if this makes a different. If it does you know where the problem is.

[/quote1229205155]It acts just like it autodims, but no amount of button pressing and clicking and mouse moving will get the screen to come back to normal .
December 14, 2008 at 12:02 am #175585FreddyMemberWell, try the BIOS-setting and also disabling Samsung Battery Manager and see what happens.
