finally got my black NC10 today from dixons today 🙂 paid 292.89 delivered so not to bad at all. I had been reading this site for a while to find out more about the NC10 and what all it is capable of before i ordered. So a big thanks to the site owners the forum especially helped me make an excellent choice 🙂
Just a few questions i am lucky enough not have recieved an nc10 with no blotchy marks on the screen but i was reading a post about what hard drive does your sammy nc10 have which drive is classed as a good drive or does it really matter. Mine has a WDC WD1600BEVT – 35ZCT1 if that means anything to anyone is that a decent one or a problamatic one??
Just out of interest really
Welcome to the forum.
The hard drive in your NC10 is a Western Digital Scorpio Blue, out of all the possible drives which come with the NC10 that one would be the one I would choose.
It’s the Fujitsu drives which are the noisy ones. Almost any other should be quieter, that said the Fujitsu drives are fine to use and I don’t think they all make the tapping noise (mine does).
Oh and performance wise the differences between any of the drives should be unnoticeable for general use.
I only noticed the other day mine is made by Hitachi. Seems quiet and efficient to me. I think unless the drive seems problematic it shouldn’t be something most people should worry about. At this price my expectation were never that high anyway ;)!
Welcome to the site and thanks for the thanks, glad it has helped 🙂
I recently found that I have a Fujitsu drive, yet have not experienced any of the issues that other users have described. I sincerely hope that my NC10 doesn’t develop these issues over time.
