I have had my NC10 for about a week now, bought from Pixmania for £300.95, and I love it. But sadly it has now developed a stop error 0X0000008E which as far as I can find out seems to be a faulty RAM. I did however get a rapid ticking sound at the same time so I suspect it could be the Hard Drive, but I dont know enough to be sure.So its going to have to go away for repair, unless anyone has any other ideas that I could try first.
This stop error came up just once about 4 days ago, so I was not bothered too much at the time but since then it is showing more and more often (though not with the ticking sound) and usually when I click on a web link. My internet connection is via a “dongle” from T-Mobile. Has any forum members encountered anything like this?
Samsung helpline have told me it sounds like HD drive and RAM fault and it could even be the main board. So its gone to get repaired.
Sorry to hear about that, hopefully you will get it repaired quickly.
I had a fault once.
Just a blue screen (on windows 7), with few words, like :
“Memory Parity check”
Like this one :
My computer was on my bed, so maybe the memory was to warm, i don’t know, i will receive a 2gb in few says, so i don’t really care for now.
But nothing about 0x0000008E sorry.
I hope you a quick fix !
