I just reinstalled Windows XP and I am using the Samsung supplied Atheros WiFi driver. I am expericing some oddities that didn’t happen before I reinstalled Windows.
Can anyone point me to a newer or alternative Atheros driver?
Thanks
Before I reinstalled XP I never had any issues
Now, when using Samsung driver or previous .150 driver (2 months older than latest) my WiFi connects to my network then randomly dies.
It doesn’t lose the connection, it stays connected but no data is transmitted. Pinging my router and such doesn’t work.
Like I said, I never had this issue before I reinstalled XP. I reinstalled using the Samsung disc and then used Intel’s latest chipset driver and Samsung’s other drivers for everything else.
I reinstalled Windows using Samsung’s image on the 6GB EISA partition.
Issues have seemed to’ve gone away. Had to remove all the crapware again though!
Kenton, I had a simliar issue with my brothers dlink router. To one degree or another both my old dell with a PCMCIA wireless card and Sammy had the same symptoms.
Eventually managed to sort it by setting Preamble on the router to short only.
