Cheers for the info – it might explain why I can’t access the tracking/order detail and also why they haven’t left the warehouse yet.
At time of order the price should stand so if you ordered at the lower price then that is the price they should honour!

November 28, 2008 at 7:00 pm #168865jonbadMemberCompanies must honour the price stated at purchase – if they then change the price after order process (that is to say when you did your bit on the internet site) then they must honour this by law, even if the next day they are charging double the price.
Similarly if you’re in a supermarket and pick up an item which says it’s £5 then take it to the checkout and they say, it’s £10 then they must by law honour the price at the advertised price of £5 (you might have to take them to the shelf to prove this though). I know it’s not excatly the same thing, but the point is they must honour the price you bought the item at (the advertised price when you wanted to buy it) even if it’s not dispatched straight away.

If you have not yet completed a transaction, a store can refuse to sell you an item rather than honour a cheaper price and are well within their rights to do so. That’s why the phrase “errors and omissions excepted” is often used – it’s a legal get-out clause for when companies advertise something incorrectly.
Some companies however will honour a lower price as an act of good will, but this is by no means a legal requirement.

Still not had a dispatch email from Dixons… but i did only order less than 24 hours ago… haha
November 29, 2008 at 12:30 am #168926StyxMemberUpdate on my Dixons order: Ordered on Monday, sent them an email the other day asking why I had no dispatch email, received an email from them this morning apologising and telling me it had been dispatched and I also got my order tracking number which I checked out on DHLs site, says it was collected at 10am, should hopefully arrive on Monday or Tuesday I’m guessing. I do live in Belfast which may or may not affect things.
January 10, 2009 at 8:57 pm #168929evilsheepMemberHi there.
I’ve just bought a white NC10 from DIxons for £294.82. However, it’s possible to get it for £288.03. They only have the blue ones in stock at the moment, priced at £304.54, but this is reduced to £296.93 by using the SALE25 discount code, and then take a further 3% off by initially clicking through to the site from CashbackKings Thus, final price = £288.03. The black one comes to £294.82 – more expensive because more desirable?
Bargain. I’d get in quick though, as since I ordered mine on Tuesday, the white models has sold out.

Cashback sites will be the death of affiliate funded community sites 🙁
January 13, 2009 at 12:45 pm #168930croutledgeMemberI managed to get the Black one from Dixons over the weekend using a couple of codes. One brought it down to £299 then another down to £284 delivered. Should be delivered today..can’t wait.
