I’d like to install SSDs into two netbooks N510-JA03DE. The netbooks have the same mainboard version BA41-01101A and the same BIOS version 03MU.
The old harddisk ST9250315AS (SATA 3Gb/s) works in both netbooks.
But the SSDs, Kinston SUV400S37/240G (also SATA 3Gb/s), only runs in one of the netbooks. Starting the other one with the SSD installed, the HDD LED starts blinking very fast (5-10 Hz) instantaneously, even before any BIOS text appears on the screen. Entering the BIOS setup takes about half a minute (HDD timeout?) and the SSD is not recognized.
I tested inserting the SSD one second after switching on the netbook, and it worked fine — but only until the next warm start.
I restored the BIOS to defaults and also tried to find some hidden BIOS settings, but the Fn-F11-F12 trick only causes the BIOS version shown in the BIOS setup main tab to expand from “03MU” to “03MU.M009.20100125.LDG”.
