Memberone issue I did have was when I forward on a movie in VLC sometimes it sticks for up to 10 seconds and then carries on playing.
Would a 2GB memory stick cure this?
and where is the cheapest 2GB stick now available?
Thanks!!!!

ParticipantWhen the problem occurs does the video seem to stick/tear and maybe becomes blocky?

Membermore just sticks with the image you were playing before you moved the slider say 10 mins ahead.

ParticipantI believe that’s an issue with VLC.
It happens on my desktop computer with 10GB RAM when I seek (move the slider) in VLC as well. The frame sticks for a while. have you tried any other players + codecs?

Memberno not tried any other ones as vlc you dont need to install codecs etc, is there another like it without installing codecs?
Does 2GB make a big difference anyhow on other programs opening etc?
Thanks for replying

ParticipantIf you open a lot of programs then yes the 2GB will make a difference, same goes if you need to open some large images in an image editor. When you open a program the bottleneck is the hard drive rather than the RAM though.
I don’t know of any other media player which comes with it’s own codecs inbuilt.
With VLC I don’t have the problem with all videos, though I’ve never bothered to work out which ones (codecs) cause the problem, as I rarely use it now. There may be some setting which helps to fix the problem.

MemberDoes the same thing happen if you use Media Player Classic?
I’ve used a lot of different players and right now I’m sticking to Media Player Classic, with the right Codec’s installed it seems flawless so far.
