Ok bit the bullet and whacked Vista Ultimate on Sammy, currently downloading 47 updates!!!
Good stuff
WiFi working solidly with the default NC10 drivers
Gfx working at 1024*600 with the default NC10 drivers (but have grabbed the intel ones directly as well)
Touchpad works (I turned most of the extras off anyway so does for me)
Sound working without any tweaks
Generally seems to be working speedily enough with 1Gb although I do have a 2Gb in the post
Not so good stuff
How the hell do you adjust the screen brightness easily without using Magic Keyboard (every copy I’ve tried crashes out)
I can live (for now) without the rest of the FN keys
Whooops moment
If you have the WLAN set to last state in the BIOS and you turned it off in XP before booting into Vista then it doesn’t appear to renable itself and given the FNF* wont work I ended up reinstalling the drivers to turn the wireless back on
Havent tried BT yet so will report backlater on that
General annoyance Why oh why does Microsfot insist on installing the Tablet Features by default but not a telnet client!!!
**sigh**
