Just an update on my situation. I managed to get the funcationallity back on my keys in vista (i.e. speed, backlight etc). I went to the samsung website and downloaded a version from one of their other laptops that came with vista and ran it with all the other vista versions of the programs we needed. After that, everything worked, display brightness, volume, bluetooth. The only strange thing is that the speed up button seems to be program specific now. Maybe it was in XP and I didn’t notice (I only just it for a minute or two) but now I can specify which program I want to run fast, i.e. my webbrowser or whatever. Still, I find it very cool, I like the specifisity.
Anyway, I think the link to all the software and drivers was this one
This one point to the software like magickbd etc, if you need drivers, just change the tab. I don’t think I’m allowed to post links, so just change the xx in the http and it should work for you.
Thanks dougp for the tips though, but I just wanted to get the keys working at the mo, althought I’ll certainly look into this keyboard mapping software at some point.
