I also had some issues with the video playback, VLN wouldn’t play the videos… well, it would, but it just displayed crappy pixelated and lagged images.
What I did was to install k like codecs, but in the configuration I choose to use haali splitter as the overlay renderer. And at last I increased the memory of haali media splitter to 64mb and 55 frames.
I’m not a 100% sure if these changes made the trick because I’m not a codec genius, but at least I don’t have any skips playing an HD mkv file.
