@Rsaeire: For testing I downloaded the latest version of Media Player Classic Home Cinema and The Dark Knight does not run very well on that one, the clip is jerky and the sound comes and goes.
I am running Media Player Classic version 22.214.171.124 and this one seems better.
The Dark Knight HD-trailers, .mov files, not .mkv. Are these good enough to test with? The trailers I’ve tested with before are .mkv – I’m trying to find the homepage I downloaded them from…
I tested “The Dark Knight” 1080p H.264 mkv file, as mentioned in my last post, using Media Player Classic 126.96.36.199 and CoreAVC Pro 1.8.5 and experienced stuttered playback. I have also tested the 1st “The Dark Knight” 1080p mov trailer from the link you provided, specifically “TDK_TRL2_best.mov”, using Media Player Classic 188.8.131.52 and CoreAVC Pro 1.8.5 and experienced flawless playback, no stuttering or dropped frames.
Using Media Info to view the details of both files, the main difference, besides the file format, is the bitrate. The mov file has a video bitrate of 6.5 Mbps, while the mkv file has a video bitrate of 11 Mbps. This is the only discernible difference I can see that could be causing the stuttered playback, the increased bitrate.
