Sorry, didn’t mean to spook you about the RAM upgrade – 9 times out of 10 it is a good move. I just put that in there because some people get a netbook for speedy access to a pc and also for being mobile where every minute on battery counts. Hibernation from 2GB is still quicker that booting from power off and not everyone uses hibernation anyway. I doubt you will notice the change in battery life but the amount of power volatile RAM uses scales in a linear fashion so 2GB RAM uses twice the power of 1GB but that is still just a fraction of the power use in a netbook, back light uses much more as does cpu and hard drive as well as other components such as the chipset and wifi.
