Although the 800Mhz chip should work, I think the fastest the chipset can support is 667Mhz anyway so your 800Mhz chip would clock down to 667Mhz. Unless you are planning on using the SODIMM later in a faster notebook, it may be false economy to get it.

That’s interesting and it would be nice to get a definitive answer on this but I’m happy with my 667 stick and I don’t want to have to pry off that bloody ram cover again if I can possibly avoid it 🙂
