WilliamYZFAll is not lost whatever initial partition sizes are chosen. Some time ago I was running out of C drive space on my Vaio. I paid a small amount to download a copy of Paragon Partition Manager and it adjusted the partition sizes on both the Vaio & later the desktop flawlessly. I have already installed it on the NC10 just in case.
At one time it was just Vaio’s that had a C & a D drive on the one hard drive but I got used to it and it makes sense in many ways.
