I have connected the card in the nbook, installed the drivers etc – all good, today i installed the D-link DIR-635 wireless N router
and i am still only getting a connection speed of 54.0Mbps
anyone have any ideas whats wrong?

Did you change the adapter settings to auto? Like in the pictures from “The Ring”.
