It is just a short-cut key combo (Fn + F8) that changes the Battery Manager option (i.e Maximum Battery, Normal, Maximum Performance). You need Magic Keyboard running to get this to work. I keep Magic Keyboard running because then it’s fast to use shortcuts for changing volume, brightness etc. etc.
Another way to check what program does what is to run “msconfig” and change the startup options. You can also search on http://www.processlibrary.com to see what process does what.

does anyone know what easy speedup manager does? It seems to be program specific – ie. it does not give you the “speed” option unless you have a program running and as far as I can tell it only changes the power saving mode to “always on”. Also does it work with battery manager uninstalled?
