Just taken delivery of the NC10 in black! 😀
So, first impressions on the black netbook are…. I love the black, the shiny non matte top is fine and it doesn’t look “tacky” as some other have sugested it might. Actually it looks very classy in it’s glossy black lid, similar to that look on a black PSP – doesn’t look cheap, just looks good. The bad news is that yes, it is a fingerprint magnet. However it’s not too bad as they don’t show up too much since it’s a black lid rather than a lighter colour where they would be more apparent.
I will still consider a sticker but to be honest I’m liking how neat and exceptionally classy it’s looking on my desk whilst charging.
It certainly looks much more corporate in black than the white one I used.
It doesn’t look like a netbook at all, it looks just like a small laptop – i recently bought (for the boss at work) an IBM X series and that cost about £1000. This little samsung LOOKS as good (although obviously hasn’t got quite as good specification) and as we all know is under £300.
I suppose what I’m trying to say is that if you were a business person wanting a small portable laptop which can perform your usual tasks; email, internet, skype, word, excel then why bother spending £1000 for a couple of extra screen inches – still no optical drive too – when you can spend £300 and get something just as good looking if not better and just as capable in those tasks listed above.
Back to the point of this post however – now I have my black NC10, I definitely am glad I chose it. That said I think I would have been equally happy with the white version, it’s just less suitable to both work and play whereas the black edition is great in both worlds…
