Hello everyone,
I’m the same boat as you guys. I am going on a trip in a few weeks and would love to be able to power my netbook while in-flight.
I have a Kensington 120W (http://us.kensington.com/html/13874.html), and I love its versatility. Not only it’s super slim and can run on almost any input (110V, 220V, car, airplane, etc), but it also supplies all kinds of outputs thanks to its exchangeable smart tips which automatically adjust the voltage.
I been using it with my Lenovo S10 (uses the tip N3, which I guess also works for ThinkPads) and it’s great, but now that I got the Samsung NC10, I was unable to find a tip compatible with it.
I have already contacted Kensington inquirying them about this, but they just gave me a generic “sorry there is no tip for your notebook model”. I guess what they’re doing is going to their site and checking there. But then again, they also told me there is no tip for the Lenovo S10 which is not true.
Since the NC10 is so new, it is still not recognized in Kensington website, but I’m thinking that perhaps there already is a tip that works with the NC10. Maybe the Samsung Q1 UMPC line which is kind of a popular.
My guess is that as long as the voltage, amperage and shape of the tip match the one provided with the NC, it should work, no matter whether it is in the list of supported models or not.
I would appreciate if anybody could tell me if there is a tip that will work with the Samsung NC10. Physically, it looks very similar than an N3, except it has a thin pin inside. The power brick of my NC10 says 19V – 2.1A.
Cheers.
