The Samsung Galaxy S6 mobile phone was released back in 2015. It was pitched as a flagship model with all the latest and greatest features dreamt up by Samsung packed into one smart looking package.
Particular emphasis was given to improving the phone’s camera and overall design. A long overdue simplification of the TouchWiz interface also saw around 40% of the custom interface stripped out for an improved user experience. It also introduced wireless charging, and a fixed battery.
There were three different models:
- S6
- S6 Edge
- S6 Edge+
The S6 and S6 Edge are both 5.1″ in size with the Edge+ featuring a 5.7″ battery. Samsung also took the opportunity to put in a larger sized battery in the bigger model. The Edge editions featured screens that wrapped round the side edges slightly to provide maximum screen display. Not everyone is convinced by this concept but Samsung have stuck with it for future models.

The battery is non-removable. The S6 was the actually the first in the range to feature a non-removable battery, until then Samsung had held out against this annoying trend.
If you really have to change it, you can always attempt a DIY repair at your own risk. This will involve opening up your phone and invalidating the warranty.
